A misty morning /July 25′

Remington 700 BDL , with Manners MCS-UC plus custom stock in .243 cal. gets the job done.

Barely discernable due to a cloying mist, the yearling was feeding atop a grassy knoll around a 100 meters away, a couple more steps and he would be lost to view. Day pack off I adopted the prone position and tripped the Trigger Tech ‘special’ trigger. The animal disappeared. We waited a few minutes and witnessed a hind appear from behind said knoll and she was looking a little bewildered to say the least, and her head was swiveling right and left for reassurance. I wondered if I had missed with my initial shot. I stepped aside a bush that was half blocking her and she immediately picked up on my movement and was gone in a flash.

We made our way over to the knoll and were somewhat relieved to find our yearling lying where she fell.
