Last minute Hind September 25′

Minutes before we missed out on a trio of deer feeding above us, but were lucky enough to encounter this mother with young not long afterward, The young un bounded away with the report of the .243 still ringing it its ears. This hind was the first in a number of years not to succumb to the brutality of the 90 grain Accubond projectile and drop on the spot. Instead she made the better part of 50 meters before dropping into some dense fern. Wilson was on hand though to find her and verify with me the dreaded heart shot. The painted fern was a help too.
