Roar Time Again

I chose an out of the way alpine trip to start my limited time off this year.  Roaring was not too prevalent with only one or two picked up way down below the bushline.  I was hoping a stag or two would venture out into the high basins to scrap as they have done in some previous years.  Not to worry as there is always the mighty Chamois to hunt as a second option this time of the year.   So it was to be I took a young buck early in the trip to provide meat and finished off with an impressive 9.25″ buck that was actually holding 6 does in late March!   I have heard tell that sometimes a buck will stay around the does all the year round but have not witnessed it myself.   This was maybe a case of that or else a bloody early start to the Chamois rut!
