David gets his first Stag

S1200002

The morning initially was fine with a low mist on the river below.  Within a short time however it was all swirling about us.  we heard a Chamois scramble away on a scree a short distance away but were unable to see him/her.  A while later we saw a hind materialise in the fog and disappear as quickly.  Eventually the clag lifted and revealed three deer around six hundred meters away.  The stalk was on.  The distance to the animals was closed to 180 meters.  We selected the three year old stag and David lined up his .243 loaded with 95 grain projectiles.       The one shot was all it took resulting in a good quick kill
